Blackfriars Publishing was originally conceived by the late local writer and author Mickey Simpson. Mickey, who left us in 2024, was a passionate advocate for local history (including that of London West and the Donnellys of Lucan) and Young Adult fiction. She wrote for the London Free Press, London Magazine, Bowes Publishing, and various magazines and newspapers in the London area.
Donna Lea Simpson (AKA author Victoria Hamilton) is carrying on Mickey’s vision by going ahead with Blackfriars Publishing to publish Mickey’s Young Adult adventure fiction, as well as establishing imprints Canadian Hearts, RETRO Fiction and SageRaven Press for her own backlist of romance and mystery fiction.
